A week of work in New York meant a week of dinners on West 32nd Street. Manhattan's Koreatown is essentially one dense block between Fifth Avenue and Broadway, signposted as "Korea Way", and restaurants are stacked on every floor, so look up. Good for: barbecue with a group, late-night soups, fried chicken and dessert cafés. As a mostly-vegetarian eater I had the best luck with tofu stews (ask for no meat), bibimbap and japchae. Weekend dinner queues are long. Put your name down and get a bingsu while you wait.
