Community Guidelines
Version 0.3
This is a translation of the Korean original.
Mukkidex is a place where people around the world who love Korean food share what they've eaten. People with different languages and tastes use it together, so please follow these principles so everyone feels welcome. They apply to posts, comments, messages, and profiles.
At a glance
- 1
Share what you experienced
Write honestly about what you ate, visited, or cooked. One accurate line helps more than ad-style hype.
- 2
Respect other tastes
Food and culture aren't "weird", just different. Respond to opinions, not to people.
- 3
Be clear about sources and facts
Post photos you took yourself, and say so if you were paid for a review. Don't copy other people's posts, photos, or recipes without permission.
- 4
Put safety first
List ingredients that can cause allergies in recipes, and don't present unsafe methods as safe.
What we love to see
- Your own experience eating or cooking, with an honest opinion (it's fine to say you didn't like something)
- Photos of food and places that you took yourself
- Recipes others can follow, and substitute tips for places where ingredients are hard to find
- Accurate information about where to eat or buy Korean food
- Friendly explanations for people trying Korean food for the first time
Tips for good posts
Please do
- Food posts: where you ate it, and specifics about taste, portion, and spice
- Place posts: exact name, city, and address. If you know a place closed or changed, say so in a comment
- Recipes: complete amounts and steps, and allergens like peanuts, shellfish, or wheat
- Link the dish in the dex, and pick its kind (like tuna gimbap) if it has kinds
Please avoid
- Writing about a place as if you'd been there when you haven't
- Posting the same thing several times or reposting with only a new title
- Promotions or links unrelated to food
- Baseless claims like "the best, period"
Respect each other
- Hate or discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar grounds is not allowed.
- Don't mock other people's tastes or cooking, and don't attack individuals. If you disagree, explain why, politely.
- Harassment, threats, and repeated comments or messages aimed at a specific person are not allowed.
- People still learning a language and posts in other languages are welcome. Don't make fun of spelling or wording.
Photos and sources
- Post photos you took yourself. Don't post other people's photos or AI-generated images as if you took them.
- Only post photos where someone's face is recognizable if they agreed.
- Among photos posted by our team, AI-generated ones are labeled "AI-generated image", and photos by others show the author and license.
Messages
- A message is a conversation with one person. If they don't reply or ask you to stop, stop.
- Unwanted promotions, sending the same message to many people, and messages asking for contact details or money are not allowed.
- You can send up to 20 messages a day, and up to 5 to the same person.
- You can block or report an unwelcome message from the message itself. Blocking stops their messages and comment and like notifications, and they won't be told.
Profiles
- These guidelines also apply to profile photos, nicknames, bios, and interests.
- You can't use a nickname or photo that pretends to be another person, a celebrity, a business, or our team.
- If something breaks these guidelines, our team may clear that item and will tell you why in your inbox.
Dex and badges
- Dex checks are a record for you, so you check them yourself with no proof. That's why there are no leaderboards.
- Don't mock or belittle other people's dex progress or badges.
What you can't post
| Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Sexual or violent content | Sexual content, cruel or disturbing images |
| Ads and spam | Unrelated promotion, repeated content, promotional messages sent to many people, paid reviews that hide being paid (if you were paid, say so in the post) |
| Rights violations | Copying other people's photos, recipes, or writing without credit or permission |
| Exposing personal information | Photos where someone's face is recognizable (without consent), phone numbers, addresses, and similar |
| False or dangerous information | Places that don't exist, presenting cooking methods that can harm health as safe |
| Impersonation | Pretending to be another person, a celebrity, a business, or our team |
| Illegal activity | Encouraging trades or acts that break the law |
Team accounts
- Virtual members our team created to start the community are labeled "Virtual member", and official accounts "Official". We don't act as regular members without a label.
- Notices and messages from our team arrive in your inbox under the name "Team".
Reporting and moderation
- If you see a post, comment, profile, or message that breaks these guidelines, tap Report. The person you report won't know it was you.
- Our team reviews reports and hides or removes content when there's a problem, keeping a moderation record with the reason. If we hide or remove a post or comment, we tell its author why in their inbox.
- We also tell the person who reported the result in their inbox.
- Repeated or serious violations may lead to restrictions under Article 9 of the Terms of Service.
- If you disagree with a decision, contact us at support@mukkidex.com.
