About Mukkidex
A dex for the Korean food you've eaten
Mukkidex is a community for people around the world who love Korean food. Check off the dishes you've tried to fill your own dex, and share food stories, places to eat, and recipes.
What the name means
Mukki (from the Korean word for eat, muk, plus a playful -ki) and dex (as in index or a collection book). It means collecting the K-food you've eaten, like a dex. Say it [MUH-kee-dex].
How it works
- 01
Check what you've eaten
Browse the Korean dishes in the dex and mark what you ate or want to try. Watch your progress fill up.
- 02
Collect badges and sets
Fill a category or finish a set like "Snack Bar Spread" to earn badges. Badges stay even if you uncheck a dish.
- 03
Share your stories
Post about dishes you tried, places that sell Korean food, and recipes you cook at home, with photos and comments.
The dex today
What we care about
Real experience first
Stories from people who actually ate, visited, or cooked come first. One honest line beats a hyped-up ad.
Nothing hidden
AI-generated photos are labeled "AI-generated image", and photos by others show their source. Virtual members and official accounts made by our team are marked next to their names.
Any language
Pages and dex descriptions come in English, Korean, and Japanese. You don't need to read Korean to find and record Korean food.
Your dex is yours
You decide what you've eaten, no proof needed. You also choose whether your dex is public in Settings.
Questions
Can I use it without knowing Korean?
Yes. Pages are in English, Korean, and Japanese, and all 100 dex dishes have names and descriptions in those three languages. Write posts in whatever language you like.
How do you check that I really ate something?
We don't. Your dex is a record for you, so you check it yourself. That's also why there are no leaderboards.
Gimbap alone has so many kinds. How does that work?
Dishes with their own name, a different way of making, or a regional identity have their own dex entry (like Chungmu-gimbap). Kinds that only change the filling, like tuna gimbap, are grouped as "kinds" of gimbap, so you can see posts for each kind on the gimbap page.
Will the dex grow?
Yes. When dishes are added or changed, we group them into a dex version (1.0, 1.1 …). See what changed in the dex updates.
Can other people see my dex?
It's public at first, so you can share a link with friends. If you'd rather not, switch it to private in Settings.
We're still getting ready
Mukkidex hasn't officially launched yet. Pages, features, the Terms, and the Privacy Policy may change. If something feels off, tell us and we'll fix it properly.
